Course Goal

Participants will gain a grounding in neurofeedback sufficient to begin supervised practice with a subsequent move toward offering clinical neurofeedback services. As with any other professional discipline, ongoing supervision and consultation, along with continuing education are highly recommended to speed and deepen the learning process. 

March 15: 9am – 5pm
Running your first session; EEG - Basics of frequency, amplitude, symmetry, coherence, wave-forms
States: delta, theta, alpha, beta, and gamma
What’s a normal EEG? Review EEG; Raw EEG vs. Artifact; Frequency Bands
Watching amplitude; What’s excessive?; Electrode Placement; Looking at your own EEG; Capturing your EEG; Goal Setting; What’s a qEEG?
 

March 16: 9am – 5pm
Reviewing Spectral EEG-data
Hook up and look at your EEG; Neurophysiological Models
Over and under arousal, Instabilities, and symptoms
Symptom Check list; One person group Intake; Group assessment; Protocol decision step 1
Client tracking form; Run EEG Biofeedback sessions

March 17: 9am-5pm
Review of session effects; Research; EEG mechanisms; Brain function– what are we training?
Turning intake into protocols – case review; Review Therapist Computer; Introduction to shaping; Session tracking form; Run NF sessions with appropriate protocols; TOVA

March 18: 9am- 4pm
More intake and assessment ; Protocol Decision Tree; Additional Protocol decisions
What to do when ADD, Aspergers, Autism, Bipolar . . . walk through your door?
Run Neurofeedback sessions; Practice Management Issues; Ethics, certification, insurance, pricing, case consultation; Test (review together as a group – not graded)
